Sorry folks, it seems while the comic was done ahead of schedule this round. We had a derp, and never attached the image. I’ve went ahead and posted the last preview I had until Nekonny gets back home to post the full version.

That… Seemed a bit TOO easy. Sure, took out Nekonny, but done in with one strike? Either Kimi’s a hell of a lot stronger than expected, or they’ve been seriously overestimating this guy. XD

I agree, that was too easy.
I think this is going to be one of those video game moments where when the boss is defeated he comes back stronger.

Pretty sure you just brought up the definition of easy fights, where the weapons brought to the fight can have an extreme influence on the victor regardless of skill. And trust me, I understand and respect that approach. But when the main antagonist that has been being built up for more than half the comic’s lifespan is defeated within 6 comic pages depicting a few minutes, it makes it feel just a little anticlimactic.

Why does a comic with Nekogirls fighting a giant bunny-looking monster have to be true to life? And I thought someone said there would be content for months to come? If the big battle is already over with, what else can there be?
I get Kimi was tired, but after seeing Nekonny go down she sure looked to have more than enough energy to give a few whacks on Jormungandr instead of one big home run swing.
“Everyone does that” is a poor excuse, sorry to say it, even with her power-up brought to scale, Jor looked too much like a pushover to be that big a threat to the island.

Ok then, replace “true to life” with “practical”. And unless you want the page to be a giant “THE END”, there is still a good 12 or so pages left; that translates into a couple of months worth of comics.
If you have a formidable enemy that just gave you a free punch after killing your most loved one, would you attack it with a semiautomatic pistol or a bazooka? If anything, this was overkill. She was beyond wanting to see it suffer; she just wanted to end it.

I would call it anything but easy. Look at what it cost her to get to that point. Kimi took a gamble on putting everything into one attack, and it paid off. Kimi doesn’t care to make the Leviathan suffer; she just wanted it finished. No prolonged beating, no witty ‘hasta la vista’ one liner, not even a grunt. That’s just how pissed she was.

Pissed as though she may be, she took out the Leviathan, the evil being that the protagonists have been fretting over for over half the comic, with a single, full-powered strike. Does it make sense to try this to get rid of the threat as soon as possible? Without a doubt. Doesn’t change the fact that it was the first, last, and only hit it took. Realistically, that’s a huge success. In a narrative, it’s just a little bit of a let-down to the audience. Overall, it just depends which approach you’re going for, and since it seems you were going for a realistic approach in the long run anyways (at least, as realistic as a world with anthropomorphic cats can get. XD), all’s well that ends well! 😉

Also, we haven’t seen what happens after this. It might be one of those “Take you with me” All-in attacks and Kimi will perish afterwords as a result of using it. Remember the cave (281-282)?

That’s it? What a disappointment.

Lets look at the situation; she’s worn out from the fighting and already used up most of her energy on that one lightning attack. Having a drawn out fight isn’t a good strategy and considering that she’s gone super neko mode and is enraged, I don’t think she would hold back.
To compare, lets take DBZ; all the characters there like the process of the fight and to show off their skills. Even when given the option to just end it, some of them want to see the battle continue just for the heck of it. Kimi went all in right off the bat, opened with the ultimate death strike and pretty much reduced the Leviathan back to stardust. If that’s not badass, I don’t know what is.

Indeed, in DBZ it was all “Pride of the Saiyans” and striving to prove who’s strongest and all that. If that one hit hadn’t worked, the people of Caribbean Blue were gonna find out just how strong that thing was the hard way. Kimi made the right call, although I doubt she was rationally making it.

ook so if Kimi has truly defeated the jormugandr in 1 epic titanic attack then the following event may happen (she is going to slowly lose her life force but only to be having the spirits of the nekobell tell her she has fulfilled her destiny as a nekocat warrior and may join their ranks as guardian of the bell, but they might also tell her of Nekonny’s fate thus relieving her worries about his well being only to at the last few moments fade away before everyone else and seeing maybe Nekonny one last time or join him in an afterlife event) go figure (a sad ending like in the Death of Optimus Prime like so)

well we must face facts not all stries told have a happy ending it’s what makes them stories with heroes vanquishing unspeakable evils and sometimes sacrificing themselves for others (like in superman doomsday) (but the power of people and persuasion can make a story change like when brian got killed in family guy and the fans had him brought back)

umm after thinking about it nekonny the sound would indeed be heard because a the kinetic energy build up and that the hitting of solid object with another sold object when the air was moved due the hammer impacting with the body the light would in fact be making a sound after all cant have lightning without thunder in some cases extreme cases.

anyone know when the next comic is coming???? i get that the creator of this comic has other things to do besides this but is it like one comic a month, week??

This is what literary-types call an anticlimax. At times, practicality and realism has to give way to entertainment value; you can’t have a hero kill a villain who has been lauded throughout the series as being incredibly powerful in a single hit, no matter what they’ve done previous to that. It doesn’t make for good reading.
Besides, we’re talking about a monster which, by all accounts, has fought heroes armed with Mjolnir several times over the years. It doesn’t make any true-to-life sense for him not to be prepared for something like this, especially since, like you said, he offered her a free hit.

I’m not going to make a big deal over this. For all I know, there’s something coming up which makes up for it. It’s just, you can’t really blame people for being disappointed with this.
